Sunday is the day where we get the most things done. We always do laundry, deep clean the apartment and we remove clothes we don’t wear anymore. Besides, I don’t like to feel detached to things.

After that, we were very hungry and knew we wanted to eat a burger. Then we looked for a good burger restaurant on the internet. We found one and  drove to Jamy’s Burger to try their food out. At Jamy’s Burger, I ordered a delicious cheesy portobello burger and Jan ordered an ordinary one with eggs. The portobello burger was the only vegetarian option that they had. And some of you know that I’m always on the hunt for a much healthier option because in general I consume  little to no meat.

Ok, now let’s put the focus on my outfit. Because as always it turned into a little ootd session and it really makes fun to shot with my love. 😉

This jumpsuit with little shoulder pads is over 6 years old, can you believe it? Yes, I keep good and unique stuff sometimes, when I know that it will be trendy in the future, isn’t it clever? By the way, I bought it in Primark, when Primark was very cool and the most famous shop back then. If I find a similar jumpsuit, I will let you ladies know, I promise!

I  put on my Birkenstock sandals that I usually wore as a “house shoe”. But I think it still fits my outfit. To complete my whole style, I wore my new sunnies and grabbed my brown faux leather bag I bought last year at H&M.

As you can see, I kept it simple as always.

//Hallo ihr Lieben!

Sonntag sind wir immer sehr fleißig. Wir putzen die Wohnung gründlich, waschen unsere Wäsche und sortieren Kleidung aus, die wir nicht mehr anziehen. Die werden dann meistens verschenkt.

Danach waren wir das 1. Mal Burger essen bei Jamy’s Burger. Ich hatte einen leckeren Burger mit Portobello Pilzen und Käse, Jan hatte eins mit Fleisch und Ei.

Nun zum Outfit. Ich hatte meinen blauen Jumpsuit an, den ich schon seit 6 Jahren habe. Manchmal behalte ich gute und einzigartige Sachen. Dazu hatte ich noch meine Birkenstock Sandalen und meine braune Tasche, die ich letztes Jahr beim H&M gekauft habe.

Ah und meine runde Sonnenbrille habe ich von Rayban. Ich hatte auch eine Ähnliche, aber sie ist dann kaputt gegangen.

The Best Vegetarian Jollof Rice ever!

A week ago I cooked a rice dish that is named Jollof Rice. I showed a little of the process on my instagram story. Jollof rice is made with tomatoes, paprika, spices and ingredients. It’s mostly consumed in Nigeria, Ghana, Gambia and Senegal.

And here is a vegetarian/vegan vision of my own way of making healthy Nigerian Jollof Rice. I kept the ingredients minimalistic and very tasty!

What you’ll need for the Jollof Rice Recipe (for 4 people)

2x tomatoes
1x bell pepper
1/2 habanero
1 tablespoon tomato puree
1x charlotte onion
3x garlic cloves
5x sliced spring onions
thumb size ginger
1 teaspoon of oil
1 tablespoon Thyme
1x veggie cube (Knorr)
2x bay leaves
tablespoon curry powder
3 cups of parboiled rice
3 cups of water
salt/pepper to taste!

First of all blend the tomatoes, bell peppers, habanero, onions and garlic. After that pour this puréed goodness into a pot of oil and add concentrated tomato puree into the mix. Fry and stir everything until you get a thick aromatic paste. This process will take you almost 20 minutes.

Now it’s time to add the remaining spices to the puree. After that, throw in the washed parboiled rice. Mix everything thoroughly.  Pour enough water to the red rice mix. It’s important that the water is on the same level as the rice so that the rice won’t stick to the pot.

Lastly, close the pot and cook the rice till it’s soft on very low heat for 15 minutes. Enjoy..!

Thursday was a holiday in Germany. Actually, we didn’t know what to do. So we decided to drive spontaneously to Heidelberg. Heidelberg is just 45 minutes away from us. The city isn’t that far compared to the long distance which we have driven.

By the way, we’ve been in Heidelberg before. We just stayed there for a few hours because we drove in the evening.

We went for a walk, took a lot of pictures as always and went to the Old Bridge.

After that, we spent our time looking for a good and cheap place to eat. Then we chose a Korean restaurant ‘Gogi Matcha‘. I ordered Bibimbap and some other things. In my case, Bibimbap is a rice bowl with veggies, chili sauce and is served with a fried egg. The food there was more than delicious. You should visit that place, too!

Am Donnerstag war ja Feiertag. Wir sind abends spontan für ein paar Stunden nach Heidelberg gefahren.

Dort sind wir spazieren gegangen und haben viele Bilder auf der Alten Brücke geschossen. Leider haben wir das Heidelberger Schloss nicht mehr besucht.

Nach längerer Essenssuche sind wir beim Koreaner Gogi Matcha gelandet.
Ich hatte ein leckeres vegetarisches Bibimbap. Das ist ein typisches koreanisches Gericht mit Reis, Gemüse und dazu ein Spiegelei.

This is a post is for my tea lovers. If you are someone who enjoys tea like me and wants to take your average black tea to a whole new level. Then stay here and try out this yummy spiced black tea recipe that I have been drinking lately.

SpicesSpiced Black Tea and Spices

Recipe for 1 cup of spiced black tea

1 organic black tea bag
300 ml water
2 star anise
3 whole cloves
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of sweetener of your choice. I didn’t use any 🙂


Bring 300 ml water to a boil in a pot/water heater. And pour it in a cup with all the ingredients. Mix everything together and take the tea bag after 3 minutes out. If you want your tea to have a stronger taste, place the spices in the water first and bring it to a boil. After that pour the spice-water mix to the tea bag.

And.. enjoy!

I have the feeling that since we’ve been on vacation we either didn’t find time to cook or we’re plainly lazy to cook.

Some days ago we didn’t know what to eat and we didn’t want to go to a restaurant or spend money on fast food.  So we went to the supermarket to buy some groceries. We bought stuff like potatoes, lemon, spinach, salmon and so on. Just Everyday stuff you know?

Baked Salmon Tomato

At home, we then prepared the baked salmon with  tomato sauce topped with potatoes and so much spinach as a side dish. It was really tasty that is why I want to share with you the recipe!

Baked Salmon with spinach and potatoes

What you’ll need for 2 

400g potatoes (hard)

250g salmon

250g spinach

100g fresh champignons

1x garlic

seasoning: salt, pepper, 1/2 curry powder

Tomato sauce for the Salmon

2 tablespoons tomato puree/fresh tomatoes

1/2 teaspoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon balsamic dressing

1 teaspoon water

1 teaspoon thyme

a bit of salt & pepper to taste!


First of all, wash an peel the potatoes. Let them cook (15 mins) until they’re soft.

After that turn the oven to 200 Celsius. Rub some oil on the salmon and then put the tomato sauce on the fish. Now let it stay for 15 min in the oven.

Now to the spinach: Fry the garlic and the champignons in a bit of olive oil. When the garlic turns translucent pour the spinach in and season it with the remained ingredients.

Then shred some lemon zest on the baked salmon if you want.
