SHOP MY LOOK: dress // top // bag // boots

First of all, happy new year guys! I hope you enjoyed the two weeks of 2019 so far..

Sometimes, I am very bored with my winter closet. Because as you might know, I tend to go with the same ole’ jeans and a thick cardigan/knit. Also, I love wearing dresses and skirts in the warmer months. Therefore, I wanted to incorporate a summer piece and show you how I style it without freezing. Let’s be real, we don’t want to sacrifice our health for fashion. ūüôā By the way, this outfit can be worn to a romantic dinner because you will look cute and you are kept warm at the same time.

I bought this checked mini buttoned dress by Bershka in Vienna. Under the dress, I threw on a basic black longsleeved top which gives the look a 90s kind of vibe. Underneath the summer dress I didn’t wear tights, I opted for thick black leggings. I like wearing these instead of tights because I find them more comfortable and they also put some structure to your outfit. I finished the look off with my favorite edgy combat boots and thick grey socks to further ‘winterize’ the look – is that even a word? Haha!

Lastly, what is an outfit without a cool bag? I’ve been living in my mini 90s baguette bag which goes effortlessly with any look. Soon I’ll write a bit more about this baguette bag. So keep your eyes peeled!

See you in the next post!

Maybe, you’ve noticed that I am not much of a haul hoarder and like to style the things I already have. Furthermore, I like to shop for¬†things I need in my wardrobe and sometimes for trendy stuff. But this time I wanted to share with you my¬†black blazer with animal¬†prints that has been in my closet for many years. It is actually a gift from my mother.¬†I have it since I was a kiddo and it is not a joke ;-)! Before that, I used to hate it due to the animal print and the overall shape. And now I am appreciating it.

This blazer is something I would wear to festivities like a fancy Christmas dinner. The collar of the jacket and the buttons feature¬†the animal print, also it is of mid-length. Plus, it has its matching dress which has the same prints. By the way, I don’t know the brand of this blazer but the quality feels really good and it held up all these years. Unfortunately, I only linked 2 blazers that look quite similar like the one I have on.

Furthermore, I styled a pair of ankle cut blue jeans with the vintage piece which goes wonderfully well together. This outfit can be worn with white pumps or if you prefer the more edgy look you can style it with black combat boots.

Do you have vintage pieces in your wardrobe that you see in a new way?

Happy Wednesday peeps!

It‚Äôs been a minute and I have to admit that I’ve been lacking in inspiration. Even the most genius people lack creative motivation sometimes. That’s why I don’t want to be so hard on myself. Plus, I have been putting my energy on different things like building a small sustainable business, drawing and spending time with my loved ones.¬†I also think that if you do something completely different it can help you gain your creativity back! Okay, enough with the long introduction!!

On Saturday we drove to our favorite city Frankfurt. We ran a few errands and visited a new spot to grab a cup of coffee. The coffee at Wacker’s Kaffee shop was very good – much better than Starbucks! Moreover, I didn‚Äôt even know that it was a very well known Caf√© in Frankfurt.

After that, we had dinner at a Japanese restaurant. Where we ordered kimchi, miso soup, fried rice and much more. I highly recommend you to check MoschMosch if you haven‚Äôt done it already. ūüėČ

I decided to go with a not so new outfit which is from last year but I haven’t paired the pieces together.

I like to infuse colors like red, orange and yellow to bring some warmth into an outfit.¬†Therefore, I opted for a mustard colored thick jumper. I think I won’t ever get rid of this jumper because it goes with everything in my opinion. I can see myself¬†wearing it over a midi/maxi dress/skirt in black. Also, it can be¬†worn with skinny high waisted jeans in blue and black or tucked in some comfy mom jeans.

As you can see, I wore my checked pants over black tights to keep my body warm. The checked print was very popular last year and I am very glad that it is still trendy at the moment. This vintage print/pattern will stay with us for a long time. So keep your checked prints :-)! Lastly, I completed the whole look with my black Chelsea boots which you have seen so many times.

My safe canvas

SHOP THE LOOK:

I am a fashion lover and I like to follow certain fashion trends when I know:

  • it is not expensive
  • I can wear it in the next season
  • if I can find an affordable option or a dupe

Sometimes, I fall too fast in love with an item and ignore those 3 points that I’d previously¬†mentioned. But today we want to talk about my ‘safe canvas’.¬† These are the clothes that I put on my body which makes me feel confident. Or let’s call it the things I often wear.

Grey coat

Jey in winter fashion

Right now, the Faux-Fur and animal print coat style is trendy at the moment. But I am sure that next year, you don’t want to see those styles anymore. Therefore, I am sure that my¬†grey coat can be worn every year and it is also a classic staple in my collection. By the way, this¬†coat is by H&M and I¬†adore the cocoon shape of the coat.

Dark sweater

Jey in winter fashion

These black knit is by H&M and it has the perfect blend of cotton and acrylic. Which I like because it not too thick and it lets your pits breath. When the weather drops I wear a shirt under my black sweater. Moreover, the most thing I like about this knit is its¬†effortlessness. ūüôā

Blue jeans

Jey in winter fashionThe blue jeans is a must-have for me and I think for everybody on this earth – haha. In addition, I like to pair my outfits with a pair of blue jeans to put some life into my¬†greyish, dark clothes. This is an ankle cut jeans that I wore on that day because it wasn’t so cold. While on the subject, I wrote an older post (here) about my other favorite blue jeans that I wear so often.

Ankle booties

Jey in winter fashion

I don’t know¬†how many seasons I have worn these shoes. I think they are from Zara. They have the most comfortable heel height where I can walk the whole day without complaining. Also, the boots are black and easy to pair with any outfit. Lastly, I think an autumn/winter outfit always looks polished with beautiful¬†ankle boots.

My gold necklace

oNecklace Disc Name Necklace

Finally, what is an outfit without the perfect accessories? This custom made name necklace is by Onecklace. I, therefore, recommend that you check out their site. Because they offer personalized gold and silver necklaces, rings, bracelets and so much more. I think I’ve talked about this already but it is crazy how I wasn’t wearing any jewelry. And, now I feel so naked if I don’t put on rings and necklaces.
