Happy Wednesday peeps!

It’s been a minute and I have to admit that I’ve been lacking in inspiration. Even the most genius people lack creative motivation sometimes. That’s why I don’t want to be so hard on myself. Plus, I have been putting my energy on different things like building a small sustainable business, drawing and spending time with my loved ones. I also think that if you do something completely different it can help you gain your creativity back! Okay, enough with the long introduction!!

On Saturday we drove to our favorite city Frankfurt. We ran a few errands and visited a new spot to grab a cup of coffee. The coffee at Wacker’s Kaffee shop was very good – much better than Starbucks! Moreover, I didn’t even know that it was a very well known Café in Frankfurt.

After that, we had dinner at a Japanese restaurant. Where we ordered kimchi, miso soup, fried rice and much more. I highly recommend you to check MoschMosch if you haven’t done it already. ?

I decided to go with a not so new outfit which is from last year but I haven’t paired the pieces together.

I like to infuse colors like red, orange and yellow to bring some warmth into an outfit. Therefore, I opted for a mustard colored thick jumper. I think I won’t ever get rid of this jumper because it goes with everything in my opinion. I can see myself wearing it over a midi/maxi dress/skirt in black. Also, it can be worn with skinny high waisted jeans in blue and black or tucked in some comfy mom jeans.

As you can see, I wore my checked pants over black tights to keep my body warm. The checked print was very popular last year and I am very glad that it is still trendy at the moment. This vintage print/pattern will stay with us for a long time. So keep your checked prints :-)! Lastly, I completed the whole look with my black Chelsea boots which you have seen so many times.

SHOP THE LOOK:

I am a fashion lover and I like to follow certain fashion trends when I know:

  • it is not expensive
  • I can wear it in the next season
  • if I can find an affordable option or a dupe

Sometimes, I fall too fast in love with an item and ignore those 3 points that I’d previously mentioned. But today we want to talk about my ‘safe canvas’.  These are the clothes that I put on my body which makes me feel confident. Or let’s call it the things I often wear.

Grey coat

Jey in winter fashion

Right now, the Faux-Fur and animal print coat style is trendy at the moment. But I am sure that next year, you don’t want to see those styles anymore. Therefore, I am sure that my grey coat can be worn every year and it is also a classic staple in my collection. By the way, this coat is by H&M and I adore the cocoon shape of the coat.

Dark sweater

These black knit is by H&M and it has the perfect blend of cotton and acrylic. Which I like because it not too thick and it lets your pits breath. When the weather drops I wear a shirt under my black sweater. Moreover, the most thing I like about this knit is its effortlessness. 🙂

Blue jeans

Jey in winter fashionThe blue jeans is a must-have for me and I think for everybody on this earth – haha. In addition, I like to pair my outfits with a pair of blue jeans to put some life into my greyish, dark clothes. This is an ankle cut jeans that I wore on that day because it wasn’t so cold. While on the subject, I wrote an older post (here) about my other favorite blue jeans that I wear so often.

Ankle booties

I don’t know how many seasons I have worn these shoes. I think they are from Zara. They have the most comfortable heel height where I can walk the whole day without complaining. Also, the boots are black and easy to pair with any outfit. Lastly, I think an autumn/winter outfit always looks polished with beautiful ankle boots.

My gold necklace

Finally, what is an outfit without the perfect accessories? This custom made name necklace is by Onecklace. I, therefore, recommend that you check out their site. Because they offer personalized gold and silver necklaces, rings, bracelets and so much more. I think I’ve talked about this already but it is crazy how I wasn’t wearing any jewelry. And, now I feel so naked if I don’t put on rings and necklaces.

We shot this simple, transitional outfit a some days ago. And I am one of the few people who doesn’t get rid of their summer clothes in the colder months. This time I was lucky because the weather has been so beautiful lately. It feels really good to put on a cozy knit, a flowy dress and sandals to let the feet breath.

Normally, the autumn season isn’t my favorite time of the year because when I think of that season fashionwise,  I connect it with darker colors like brown, orange, and black. And let’s not forget those heavy and thick materials which I don’t like. Plus, I have to admit that I am not so creative with my styling because I tend to wear a pair of jeans, a cardigan, sneakers and the same coat most of the time. Basic? Right… That’s why I am glad to combine heavy and light clothing for this warm October

Moving on to my outfit, we shot this look when it was quite sunny. Moreover, we went with a green and golden background to demonstrate the beauty of this season. The photos also show how green the leaves are. In addition, I wore a checked midi dress underneath a black light sweater knit. I focused on accessories and wore my statement coin necklace and finished the look off with my thin oval sunglasses for a vintage touch. Finally, I wore my favorite sandals by Dune which I can highly recommend!

See you in the next post!

Happy first day of October, peeps!

I’ve been spending less time on the internet. The reason for that is the rediscovery of traditional art. My interest in art, especially for watercolor (yes you read right – watercolor) was aroused. I spent the last weeks learning a lot about the different types of watercolors, brushes, and papers. Plus, it was quite interesting to see how much you learn in such a short time if you are obsessed with a topic.  A fun fact – I used to hate using watercolor when I was younger. Now, I am appreciating the beautiful art you can create with the different pigments.

I also began to draw again, do you still remember when I talked about how I wanted to connect to my old self in a blog post? I wrote about being creative (not digital!) again. Moreover, I am happy to find a hobby which will bring the fun back to doing art.

Also, I can’t wait to start putting my theoretic knowledge onto paper. Because I ordered a few watercolor supplies that will arrive soon. Maybe, I’ll share the piece on Instagram if I feel confident enough or if it’s presentable.

Are you guys interested in digital or in traditional art?

See you in the next post!
